The team at Beverley Community Lift  (BCL) has been shortlisted for an award in its 50th anniversary year. 

It is one of three in the running for the Group category in Community Awards to be announced by the Chairman of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Councillor Pat Smith. Next month's annual ceremony will be different this year, owing to the pandemic. 

Cllr Smith said: "I am delighted to be able to announce that the 2020 Chairman's Awards will be going ahead – albeit in a very different format due to the coronavirus.

"Everyone has worked hard behind the scenes to ensure a virtual ceremony can take place which will give us all the opportunity to recognise all the effort and work people have put into their communities to make it a better place.

"The list of nominees has now been announced and I congratulate them all and wish them the best of luck for the final."

The 2020 East Riding of Yorkshire Council Chairman's Awards will take place at 7pm on Tuesday, 28 July, 2020.
